Short Description : Marketing Incentive is given to the handloom agencies for preparing conditions which are conducive to marketing of handloom products. This would largely be an incentive to the price in competitiveness of handloom sector, so that while on the one hand they are able to marginally reduce the price, on the other hand they invest infrastructure so as to improve the production and productivity.

Beneficiaries: The assistance towards marketing incentive shall be eligible to state handloom corporations, apex co-operative societies, primary handloom weavers’ co-operative societies and national level handloom organizations. marketing incentive should be given maximum for 3 years.

How to Apply: The claims of Ml will be submitted by the eligible societies in the prescribed format

Criteria:

  1. The scheme will be implemented for 5 years from 2021-22 to 2025-26 as per the existing guidelines. Out of these 5 years, the marketing incentive will be available for a maximum of 3 years only.
  2. These incentives will be calculated @10% on average sales of handloom products of the last 3 years, to be equally shared between the State Govt and Central Govt.
  3. State-level Apex co-operative societies and Handloom Corporations can get a maximum of Rs.100 lakh as central share.
  4. Maximum central allocation for primary groups is Rs.15 lakhs.
  5. Eligible to apply for central share only after getting state share.
  6. The amount received as marketing incentive should be shared equally among the handloom groups / agencies and the weavers who are members through DBT. While releasing the marketing incentive amount, the details of consumers should be updated in the public domain by the state government and the nodal agency.
  7. List of weavers eligible for Marketing Incentives with details (name, membership number, eligible amount, Aadhaar number, bank account number with IFSC code) should be submitted.
  8. The application should be submitted within the prescribed time limit strictly following the guidelines. Incorrect applications not complying with the conditions will be returned.
