1) Appointment of professional Designers
As per the scheme appointment of professional Designers, approval is given to appoint 10 professional designers in the Design Centres at Hantex and Hanveev. The Professional Designers work under the guidance of IIHT Kannur. They value add the fabrics, design the clothes and readymade dresses and helps in home furnishing, shoulder bag manufacture. Professional designers also do works like saree hand printing, embroidery, block printing, churidar embroidery etc.
Who gets the benefits.
The Professional designers who are appointed by IIHT Kannur in the Design Centres at Hantex and Hanveev are eligible to get a maximum salary of Rs. 20000 per month based on their performance and attendance.
How to apply
The performance and the attendance of the Professional Designers are checked and verified by Hantex/Hanveev and IIHT Kannur and the request for the salary is forwarded by IIHT Kannur.
Criteria.
The performance and the attendance of the Professional Designers are being checked. The permitted leave for one month is one day.
2)Training Expenses to IIHT Kannur
The IIHT, Kannur functions mainly with the financial assistance from the Kerala Government. The income earned through the various courses is not sufficient for meeting the administrative and training expenses of the institute. The assistance includes assistance for training expenses, salary for the staff, expenses for the implementation of the project, electricity charges, Postage expenses, Maintenance expenses etc.
Beneficiary : IIHT Kannur
How to apply : The IIHT Kannur submits a proposal for getting the assistance.
Criteria : Eligible amount will be sanctioned and disbursed to the IIHT, Kannur for meeting the training expenses.
3.) Stipend (To be DHTT Students from Kerala, studying at the various IIHT s in India)
Stipend is given to the students from Kerala, studying for the DHTT courses in the various IIHTs in India.
Beneficiaries : Matriculation or equivalent qualification is necessary.
How to apply
The applications have to be submitted to the concerned IIHT in India. A committee comprising of either the Director of Handloom and Textiles or his representative, a representative from the IIHT, Kannur, and a representative of the concerned IIHT, determine the eligibility of the applicant and thereafter select him/her.
